LThe holidays are over, and many of you are thinking about summer, or feeling guilty for the excesses of the end of the year. You see slimming food supplement ads that promise you immediate and amazing results...

One may wonder how one tablet could become your best ally in achieving this goal (a lifetime, let's face it!). Come on, at Nutri&Co we're nice, we'll tell you everything.

Sorry, there is no such thing as a magic pill

Eat healthy, balanced, colourful, raw, cooked, everything. Practise regular, gentle, intense, long, long, short physical activity, every day, every week. Being involved in a system of balanced nutrition and physical commitment will bring you moral and physical well-being.

Healthy sandwiches

Be very objective about your relationship with food, and try to eliminate all your bad snacking and drinking habits, for example. You can use well-chosen nutraceuticals, even if they are not intended to be "slimming", they can be of better quality and more effective in helping your body !

Our organic spirulina, for example, is a food source that is nutritionally very rich and dense, especially in micronutrients (vitamins & minerals). Micronutrients are essential for its proper functioning, whether for immunity, metabolism, digestion. In addition, spirulina contains nearly 70% protein, known for its satiety effect, so it could reduce the total amount of food consumed. Thus, you give your body the keys to better regulate itself and function, one of the consequences of which can be weight loss.

With probiotics, you can also rebalance your microbiota (your intestinal flora), which can be damaged by a lack of fibre, a diet that is too rich in sugars or taking antibiotics, for example. A healthy and varied intestinal flora facilitates weight loss (1). Taking probiotics helps you to strengthen your immune system, improve digestion and thus eliminate fat. By improving your metabolism, you protect yourself from viruses, fungi, certain diseases and bad bacteria.

In addition, in 2013, a study published in the British Journal of Nutrition (2) demonstrated the efficacy of probiotics on a sample of 125 participants.
For 4 months, overweight participants took either a placebo or a supplement of Lactobacillus rhamnosus (the most common strain in Nutri&Co probiotics). Participants who took the supplement lost an average of 4.4 kg after 12 weeks, compared to 2.6 kg for the placebo group. After 24 weeks, these same participants lost twice as much weight as the others after the end of probiotics !

In conclusion

Weight loss through nutraceuticals is not an end in itself, and will not be sustainable if you do not seek to improve your overall lifestyle.

By understanding what you are ingesting, you will send a signal to your body: I want to be healthy. You must be realistic about your goals and take the necessary actions in your daily life to achieve meaningful weight loss. You will see physical results, but also a mental well-being that will last!
