Digestion Pack
A mix of lactic ferments * acclaimed for its effectiveness
Probio² is based on a mix containing 9 strains, 3 of which have been supported by 21 clinical studies. It was designed to find a consensus between the so-called “specific strains” approach and the so-called “multi-strain” approach. Our lactobacilli and bifidobacteria are accompanied by the first flavonoid with prebiotic action. Everything is encapsulated in gastro-resistant capsules to protect the mix from stomach acidity.* Although legally tolerated in Spain , in Italy and the Netherlands, the term "probiotic" is banned in the European Union by EFSA.
A complete enzymatic and vegetarian mix

Aquestion ?
Our experts answer all yourquestions.Lactic ferment or Enzyme, isn't it a bit the same?
Absolutely not. The enzymes will take care of cutting the food to prepare the assimilation of nutrients, while the bacteria * will digest the fibers. Indeed, these will not be digested by our body and it is our microbiota that takes care of them.
Note, however, that the two work together. For example, the cellulase enzyme cuts some very long fibers, which would not be digested by the microbiota without this first step. They become shorter and bacteria can break them down. The only winner of this collaboration is your digestive comfort!

Is there a link between enzymes, lactic acid bacteria * and gastric reflux?
None! Gastric reflux is mostly caused by what you eat. If you are prone to gastric reflux, then we recommend that you take your enzyme capsules at the end of the meal, and our Probio² in the morning, also during the meal.

Why can't I digest lactose?
The small intestine produces an enzyme called lactase, which cuts up the main carbohydrate in milk: lactose. Over time, some organisms lose their habit and no longer produce lactase, this carbohydrate is no longer digested and can cause digestive problems. Some people are more tolerant (and therefore produce more lactase) than others, and this can vary from region to region of the world.
How do I know if I need to take enzymes?
The first indicator remains the difficulty you may encounter when digesting milk and its derivatives. In general, lactose intolerant people experience digestive problems very quickly after consuming dairy products (milk, cheese, cream, etc.). The end of the meal then turns into a nightmare. If you consistently experience discomfort after meals, you may also want to consider using digestive enzymes.
What does UFC mean on your lactic acid bacteria label *?
This acronym stands for Colony Forming Unit. Behind these barbaric terms is simply the number of living bacteria in a daily dose. In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of UFCs, suggesting that the most garnished mixes are the most effective. In reality, this is not the case, the number of CFUs is measured for each strain by relating it to the amount that has been shown to be effective in a clinical study. Too much CFU can even be counterproductive…
* Although legally tolerated in Spain, Italy and the Netherlands, the term "probiotic" is banned in the European Union by the EFSA.
Why do your bottles of Probio² and enzymes not have a vegan logo?
To obtain the Vegan label, our certification body needs to study the inputs of bacterial cultures and fermentation of enzymes. Even if we have access to it, this information is confidential and is part of the know-how of the producers. They cannot divulge them without risking having their secret stolen. However, they do certify that no ingredients of animal origin are used.
What are the differences between lactic acid bacteria and probiotics?
“Probiotic” is a term that is generally suitable for bacteria AND yeasts. According to the WHO definition "probiotics are living microorganisms that provide beneficial effects to the intestinal flora". However, the etymology of the word probiotic (for-life) serves as health claims in itself while these microorganisms have yet to obtain any. In France, the term is therefore prohibited in Nutra.
The term “lactic ferment” that we have decided to use is the one that comes closest to this that we offer in our capsules, namely “good” freeze-dried bacteria which will interact with the intestinal ecosystem. However, we are aware that “lactic acid bacteria” refers to a specific type of bacteria and that we use it with a more general definition. Others use the term “microbiotics”, but it can be misleading because the microbiota refers to the “own” flora of the individual, but this supply of external bacteria does not come from the flora of the host, there is therefore a nonsense.
In short, after the generic term of “bacteria”, even “lactic bacteria”, the name “lactic ferment” is certainly the one that comes closest to what we use in the capsules.
